1. Overview
Otoma operates otoma.app, a music discovery tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Otoma, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from Google. We store your email address and a username you choose in our database.
Usage data. We record which tracks you save to your favorites. We do not record every track surfaced during a session.
Uploaded content. If you upload a profile avatar, that image is stored in our cloud storage (Supabase Storage).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Otoma service
- Save and display your favorite tracks
- Display your public profile at otoma.app/u/[username]
- Improve and develop new features
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
Spotify. Track discovery is powered by the Spotify API. We do not store Spotify user credentials or access your Spotify account. Spotify's own privacy policy applies to content served from their platform.
Google OAuth. Sign-in is handled by Google. Google's privacy policy governs data Google collects during that process.
Supabase. Our database and storage are hosted on Supabase. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
5. Public Profiles
Your username and saved tracks are visible to anyone who visits otoma.app/u/[your-username]. Your email address is never publicly displayed. If you delete your account, your public profile and saved tracks will be removed.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Cookies
Otoma uses cookies solely for authentication session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Children
Otoma is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Otoma after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Otoma at otoma.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The Service
Otoma is a music discovery tool that surfaces tracks from Spotify's catalog. Otoma does not host, store, or distribute any music. All audio content is streamed from Spotify and subject to Spotify's terms of service.
3. Your Account
You may create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
You must choose a username that is not offensive, does not impersonate another person, and does not infringe any trademark. We reserve the right to reclaim or change usernames that violate these conditions.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Otoma for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our API
- Circumvent any rate limits or access controls
- Upload avatars or set usernames that are obscene or harassing
- Use Otoma in any way that could damage or overburden our infrastructure
5. Intellectual Property
The Otoma name, logo, and interface design are our intellectual property. Track metadata, artwork, and audio content belong to their respective rights holders and are made available through the Spotify API under Spotify's terms.
You retain ownership of any content you upload (profile avatars). By uploading, you grant us a license to display that content within the service.
6. Availability
We make no guarantees about uptime or availability. The service is provided as-is and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Otoma is provided as-is without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Otoma and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts.
11. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Otoma after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
